Harby Village Hall

From Russia With Love
Saturday 19th November saw us making our third trip in as many years to Harby, or as we like to call it, ‘The Opera Dudes Development Laboratory’, where we get to try out new material to a very friendly audience! We unveiled two new characters - Russian spies - and treated the audience to three new duets and a new Chopin piano piece played by Tim Liberace Lole.

I managed to persuade him not to wear his pink catsuit with leopard-skin trimmings this time, but nevertheless he still insisted on wearing his diamante Ted Baker underpants....

Its the wrong note!!

Food for the Opera Dudes was provided by Harby’s answer to Nigella, the lovely Jocelyn, who is rapidly going to the top of the Opera Dudes Top Gear leader board; not so much ‘Star in a reasonably priced car’ as ‘Star of a reasonably-sized Village Hall kitchen’!

The Harby audience were as lively as ever, throwing their legs in the air during the opening number to the show - The Can-Can - and this was followed by the Dudes’ usual mix of slapstick humour and great songs, plus a little impromptu ballet-dancing from the audience. The evening was rounded off with Neil's rendition of Rossini's Tarantella, but with a unexpected twist.

See you next year Harby!!
